The beauty of teak stems from its durability and ability to be kept in pristine condition for many years. To help you maintain the ‘brand new’ look, we include a couple of touch up supplies for you to keep on hand.
Teak is a wonderfully forgiving wood, which makes it easy to fix up if your piece needs occasional maintenance. Despite its durability, you might start to notice some natural wear and tear like scratching, graying, or even a few cracks in your teak furniture. With a little cleaning, you can restore your teak furniture to its original shine and color.
We take great care during the packaging and shipping process, however, light scuffing can occur. Below is a short set of instructions to remove any such marks you may encounter.
In the event of any scuffs, use a soft cloth or brush to apply teak oil to your furniture. Teak oil helps maintain the original shape of your wood. Make sure to follow the instructions on the label, as sometimes more than one coat is suggested. If this is the case, wait for about an hour between each coat so that the oil has time to dry. CAVAN teak pieces have already been sealed before the assembly process, so you will not have to worry about applying sealer in this process. Make sure you also take precautionary steps, such as cleaning up any spills right away and regularly dusting your teak to keep it in good condition. When you follow these steps, you will notice that you will not have to clean it again until another year or two.
Teak furniture can last a lifetime and following these instructions will make sure it will look amazing for the duration.
